Level 2: The Back Yard - Balance on a baseball and watch out for dynamites in the trails and the windmill in the first trail.Level 1: The Front Yard - In the front yard, you are supposed to find Sam's shell and give it to Sam and put the scarecrow's head back on its body and Sam gives you keys while you completed those kind of tasks. It was released for the iPhone on September 23, 2008. The game is available for Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. The game is currently on sale for $3, but the price will rise in the near future.Bugdom 2 follows the adventure of a grasshopper named Skip as he tries to get his stolen knapsack from Bully Bee throughout the game, Sam the Snail and Sally the Chipmunk assist him. Bugdom 2 was reviewed playing Version 1.0. ![]() The sound effects are excellent and each level has its own look and feel. (Really? Fix that before releasing the game.) The animals all have their own speech and dialogue. The music is great but the game actually suggests turning it off for smoother gameplay. ![]() The look is very cartoony and reminded me of the Bug games on the Sega Saturn. For example, if you die in the pool on level two, the game won't start your next life and you end up having to start the level over. This is inexcusable and makes playing the game much more tedious an experience than it had to be - especially when there aren't that many strawberries around to replenish your health. Or what if you have to put the phone down to do something? You simply have to start over. If you're on your last life with no health and you made it to level two or eight or ten and can't beat it, then forget it. You cannot save in the middle of a level (there are only checkpoints), nor is there an auto-save. This variety is what keeps Bugdom 2 from becoming just another boring platform game. The sewer level is a lot of fun and just has you sliding down the drainpipe while tilting left or right to avoid objects. There are a variety of goals, such as freeing trapped mice, bombing ant hills, killing all enemies on a level, or popping tabs on soda cans. Picking up a strawberry replenishes health. I disliked this feature - it should just replenish on its own. You have a limited amount of flight time and need to pick up blueberries to replenish your flight meter. You can also walk around with Buddy Bugs that act as homing missiles. Swipe your finger up to kick, and swipe down to pick up/drop objects. Tap the screen once to jump and double tap to jump and fly. It's really hard to get used to this and even turning the sensitivity down all the way doesn't help much. Skip is controlled by tilting the iPhone. You earn points at the end of each level but it appears as if these points don't give you extra lives or notable benefits, so it's up to you if you wish to pursue all the bonuses on levels. Sally gives you maps for levels while Sam usually offers keys for completing tasks. Enemy bugs and other assorted bad guys like toy robots and army men try to stop you. With the help of friends Sam the Snail and Sally the Chipmunk, Skip must run, fly and jump his way through ten different levels ranging from the backyard to the sewer, from the playroom to the garbage can.
